Reading Response #2

WARNING: SPOILERS INBOUND!!

On the pages 20, 21 22 of chapter 2 it shows Eren and Mikasa (his “sister”) being carried away by a solder names Hannes. What I would also change is that if his mom actually did die, when his mom just got eaten (on page 22) he could turn the other way and then say a very slight but noticeable message of him being a titan shifter in the future. At this point, he doesn’t have his powers yet, his dad gives them to him after they escape, but it would be cool if, maybe he’s so determined to avenge his mother that he says something like “I don’t care what it takes, what type of monster I’ll have to become, but I will kill every titan in the world,” therefore referencing him becoming a “monster” (titan) and him killing other titans.

I will continue with page 44, 45 and 46 of chapter 4. In this chapter the main character gets eaten (or better said, swallowed) by a titan. What I would change is that all of these events happened way too fast. Chapter 4 is all in the first book, and the book is a manga, so everything gets read quick, and already in the first book, the main character's mom dies, several other characters (non-important) that we just met and could have improved the story dies, and the book makes it look like the main character himself died (he didn’t but he did lose an arm and leg)! Honestly, I would have at least, if the main character had to get swallowed, made it happen in the second book. At least.
